Introduction

With a ‘Q The Music Track of the Day’ in the bag and a BBC 6Music Record of the Week for the infectious ‘So Sofia’, further airplay on BBC Radio 2 and Q Radio plus growing support from regional radio stations across the UK, Midlands based roots-pop four piece The Musgraves established themselves as ‘ones to watch’ via their critically acclaimed debut EP, ‘Lost In Familiarity’. British Telecom (BT) adopted the band in 2011 using an instrumental of their epic ballad ‘Discover Me’ as the bed for the ‘Adam and Jane’ TV wedding campaign. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze6z9bY5790

Bio

The debut single, ‘Last Of Me’, has already been championed by Graham Norton on his BBC Radio 2 show. The track explores the imminent end of a long-term relationship – the loss of love, friendship and, ultimately, identity – but, in true Musgraves style, it sits on a feel-good pop arrangement brimming with 50s and 60s pop/soul influences. With a growing reputation as an amazing live band and a yet to be released debut album packed with huge feel-good pop singles, The Musgraves are gearing up for big things in 2012. Press & Reviews "...Beautifully crafted Pop-Folk songs that capture a tremendous sense of effortless energy and emotion showing a song writing ability well beyond their years and far above that of you're average band. Undoubtedly they have potential to go far..." BBC West Midlands "...The freshness and enthusiasm of these musicians has been coupled with mature song writing and a polished production sound rarely found on a debut independent release. The result is folk-infused alt-pop at its best..." The Line of Best Fit As The Musgraves start things up with their enchanting melodies the air in the station changes, people take notice and slowly start to gather a crowd. The band show off some really fun upbeat melodies and Matthews voice really uplifts the weekly blues of London life in a station. The Station Sessions mission is "To bring contentment to commuters" and with The Musgraves to help them the mission is easily accomplishable. • The lead singer may sound like David Gray, but when the groove is this epic, who the heck cares? Makes me want to dive into a haystack with a lady, in some baggy woollen pants. But maybe that *is* just me.

  • An uptempo acoustic instruments jig fronted by a singer that sounds a bit like David Gray. It's all served up with much energy and enthusiasm. The song isn't amazing but you can't help being put in a good mood listening to it.
