  • Part of 20 year old Simon Lucas-Hughes’ solo project, this track is testament to a man experimenting with a cauldron of musical potential at his disposal. It’s an interesting listen, but you can’t help but feel it needs something more to boost its impact. Whilst starting dully, the track builds promisingly at the end, but the balance between momentum building and climax is off, and the build up we wait for throughout the track is over way too quickly. Tweaking that, and the addition of an extra later or a hint more energy would really make the track come alive, from what is undoubtedly an exciting prospect.

  • Angular Guitar is the sort of description I associate with New York bands circa 1978. There's is a touch of the Talking Heads about Frett but probably more Everything Everything than anything. It's cleverly arranged and produced - starting really thin and getting fatter - like getting older ! The vocals are very English though and so they should be - that's where he's from. There's intelligence and atmosphere. The hooks are subtle but they are there. This track will grow with repeated listening. Well crafted.
