Two years after the demise of Norfolk band "The Delaney" singer/songwriter Greg Cockerill and bassist/guitarist Adam Rees got together once again to write fast paced, catchy rock songs. After 8 months of song writing the boys recruited Craig Brooks on the Bass guitar, leaving Adam to take full control of Guitar duties. With the addition of Drummer Miles Caston (Ex Sweet Transistor) and several local gigs under their belt the lads have huge plans to take the live scene by storm in 2014.

Light Echoes - First ever gig

Q. How did you first get into playing music?

ADAM; Around about the time I was given permission to drop the needle on my Dads old 45's. He had a great record collection. It was mainly comprised of rock music like Wishbone Ash and Golden Earring, but he also had albums by Bowie, Stevie Wonder, The Police, Paul Simon and Lionel Richie. I asked him if he'd buy me a guitar but I think he was a little hesitant at first as he wondered if I'd commit to playing it. When I was 12 he bought me my first guitar.

Q. How long have you been performing?

ADAM; We've all been performing individually for years, but we only started playing together as a band at the start of the year, so were looking forward to getting more gigs and being able to play to a wider audience.

Q. How would you describe your sound in one sentence?

ADAM; Diverse alternative band traversing the sub-genres of rock music

Q. What makes your music unique?

ADAM; I think it's the fact that each of our songs song very different from the last. We don't have an "over-all sound",. While we manage to keep the structures of the song very simple and basic, the style of the music varies from track to track. We try our hand at making songs that come from different genres within heavy rock.

Q. What inspires you to write songs?

ADAM; Being able to express yourself creatively. Part of wanting to write music is to entertain people, so I think most of what inspires us to make music is our friends. Performing for people who relate to you and what your doing is a lot of fun.

Q. What have been your best and worst gig experiences?

ADAM; At our first gig, I had a full blown panic attack. It only lasted a moment but it was during the first song. I wanted to make a great first impression so badly I ended up losing it during the first verse. Fortunately it was all uphill from there and turned out to be a great gig.

Q. If you had to listen to one album for the rest of your life what would it be?

ADAM; Fortunately, I'm not being held in Guantanamo Bay, so I don't have to listen to one album or song for the rest of my life. That would be torture.

Q. What do you get up to when you’re not making music?

ADAM; Trying my best to promote the band locally.

Q. What are your goals at the moment?

ADAM; To be the best band we can for ourselves, our friends and our fans. It would be nice to make a comfortable living from making music as a career, but realistically , we just want people to have fun and enjoy our music.

Q. What have you been working on lately? Any new tracks or gigs lined up?

ADAM; We have 5 New demos in the works, each inspired by Sonic Youth, Deftones, Foo Fighters, Duran Duran, H.I.M and CKY. We also have some local gigs coming up over the next few months,

Q. What do you think of Unsigned Band Review?

ADAM; We are really fortunate to have come across this site as it has given us (and many other bands) a chance to promote our music and hopefully earn some fans along the way. Thank you.

Q. What is the name of the last track that you wrote and what is it about?

ADAM; "Summer Time Anthem". It's about starting a long distance relationship and whether or not It'll be doomed from the start or whether absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Q. What was the music scene like where you grew up?

ADAM; There were some great local bands around Norwich growing up. I remember seeing a band called Benn's Little Rebellion at the Waterfront when I was about 16-17 and thinking "OK, it is possible to be a small local group and still bring in a huge crowd,"
