  • Really fun track. Reminds me of The Cat Empire. Sounds like they’d get a festival crowd going - that’s for sure!

  • I reckon this would be a joy to behold live. Typical festival band. Great drumming throughout. I quite like the vocals. It sounds like a modern day madness. Good solid chorus. Love the additional brass. It reminds me of the circus. The song is short but sweet. I also like the name.

  • How can anyone not like a song named ‘Cakewalk’, oh and it has a trumpet in it, plusses all round. Madness anyone? (the band)

  • Tankus can brighten up the darkest day. Positive, happy, party drinking music with no little technique. A bit like Madness minus a little bit of Jamaica. Should be ripping up the Summer Festies where you can do with a bit of light relief from the Angst Tent.

  • Cockney knockabout fun with a side order of summertime euphoria. What's not to love?

  • Wonderful - I love it. His voice is great - it has character to it. It reminds me of early Kinks and The Squeeze and a bit of Blur all jumbled together! There's a lot of jazz influences in there too. Get this out there!

  • I’d agree with the moniker “most fantastic band in the World” – great song.

  • FIRSTLY... 'Smiling makes the day go quicker' is a gorgeous song title and then when you actually play the track, an equally as gorgeous voice belts out! The most pretty 'London-LAD' voice i've heard in while, since 'Pete Doherty- This is for Lovers' anyway. It's Madness ballad sing-a-long with a classic Beatles sound..

  • There's a quality about this... it's very much like storytelling on an intimate basis. It's got a quality about it where at one point you think you could be listening to something in Bugsy Malone, and on the other side, you feel like you're listening to Jellyfish with their album Spilt Milk. I think that this is music that has been made without asking for permission first. It's music that has completely forsaken the idea that it's gotta get on radio and therefore it doesn't need to compete, and in not competing sonically or rhythmically with radio records that we have at the moment, this record is charming and tells a story and welcomes you in. I really like it, it's really cool!

  • TTH come from the Beatles/Jeff Lynne/Jellyfish school of songwriting which is ok with me. As the title suggests, this is good time happy music which, as any musician knows, is VERY hard to get right. TTH pull it off admirably with energy and panache and Jaz Delorean has smoke (or is it just lots of gigs) in his voice. Attractive. I like the abandon in the playing of the end section, which is a romp (from 2:46). You've probably heard something like this before in your life, but I'll bet you can't go through it with out smiling at the end! Well done. I'll play it to Macca the next time I see him in the pub!

  • Listening to Tankus the Henge certainly makes the day go quicker if recent performances at the Olympic Park and Secret Garden Party are anything to go by, The East London band give a modern twist to the "steam driven" vaudeville tradition. Piano, strings and finger-clicking things go zipping past behind the rag-tag vocal of the Dickensian-looking frontman Jaz Delorean. Maybe not their best song, but still cool for cats.

  • Exciting, different and interesting. I'm not a fan of judging from live performances alone as sometimes it's unclear where the "song" is. HOWEVER, these guys are clearly tight and have an incredible almost carnival-vibe! It takes talent and guts to create music with so many influences and so many musicians, Tankus The Henge don't just pull it off then TEAR it off! Haha - if that makes sense. 8/10

  • (Review for the track "Cakewalk") Possibly the jauntiest track I've heard on Unisgned Band Review.com - but when has jaunt ever been illegal? Bags of fun, except the band probably don't use bags, they probably keep things under their funky bowler hats.

  • (Review for the track "Who's gonna catch ya?") These guys have got fun in barrels - UK Punk Rock with the wit of The Divine Comedy.

  • Playing gypsy cabaret in the style of Bizarre Ball favourites The Tiger Lillies, Tankus The Henge amble around a winding instrumental path, which is like the soundtrack to a drunken stumble home via a maze. At the Secret Garden Party, they managed to attract a group of punters onstage, including one sporting bunny ears. At the Bizarre Ball, they'd probably get toes tapping, before starting a good old drunken freakshow knees-up.

  • A festival, meeting new people, forming new friendships, partying and loosing inhibitions...is the picture this track conjures up for me! It's quirky, addictive, and infectious. Their music oozes life! It's like being at an old fashioned fairground surrounded by any number of curiosities and temptations! I love it!

  • Wow! OK! What can I say? Definitely influenced by The Beetles. Not sure of the relevance to todays market. Very Radio Two- very adult. The kind of band you would see at Green Man Festival. They play really well. Singer has got a great voice. I'm personally not inspired by them. They look too old..but clearly having fun and enjoying it. In terms of commerical opportunities I don't think it has a place. A fine listen. Fine young men! They are very Mojo Mag. I could see Mojo liking to write about it- it's paisley music! They have created a world for themselves that is totally believable.

  • (Review for track "Recurring Dream") And now for something completely different, uplifting, carnival esque, difficult to compare to anything else! Give it a listen.

  • Quite possibly one of my favourite songs... ever!
