A Sneaky Peek With Liz Lawrence
News By Subject
When we pondered the notion of cramming the heart and soul of a punk rocker into a folk-poppy shell, we imagined the effect to be something similar to those absolutely HILARIOUS joke cans of snakes, ready to explode. Ah, we're chuckling just thinking about them. *Wipes tear*. But no, this isn't actually quite the case. We met a living example, and when we interviewed her we're pleased to report that Liz Lawrence remained entirely in tact.
We found out that her alternative influences were more about the attitude rather than the performance, which you will probably be able to tell when you check out her stunning acoustic performance of 'The Oo Song' just below here. But there were a few more things we wanted to find out about this intriguing performer. What's her secret for songwriting? What's it like to open a show for the likes of Ben Howard, The Civil Wars and one of her idols, Ani Difranco? But most of all... how does she feel about playing at the Olympics?
